An upgraded eCommerce platform with additional selling capabilities targeted at increasing conversion rates and making Google happy.

The Brief

We had worked with TheDrinksBasket for over four years; supporting their existing Magento 1.9 website and creating promotional banners for their digital marketing campaigns, before we discussed undertaking an upgrade to Magento 2. They wanted to simplify user journeys and enhance their website experience to maximise sales conversions. They also had a wishlist of functionality and systems to integrate.

Our Approach

We held a discovery process to establish what functionality should be included with the website upgrade; and determine the best approach to achieve TheDrinksBasket’s goals. We wireframed the entire user journey and additional functions; before designing a fresh look for the site which was optimised for mobile users. During the development stage we liaised with third party providers to incorporate new elements into the site and ensure they worked with the upgraded system.

The Website

We added recipes and brands sections on the Magento 2 platform to provide the user and Google with a host of content, geared to increase sales through product placement. We also centred the website around visual blocks and video content to capture the attention of visitors and promoted reviews to sway purchasing decisions at key points along the eCommerce journey. To appeal to new customer types, we added subscriptions functionality and a ‘parties’ page for further ongoing marketing for TheDrinksBasket.
